Sam is primarily interested in the critical role that cities must play in mitigating and adapting to climate change. While at MIT he intends to focus on how urban development can be steered to simultaneously address climate change and enhance equity. Previously, Sam worked for four years at the Overseas Development Institute in London, primarily researching the challenges of financing climate change responses in developing countries. He has also spent time lobbying for stronger federal and state-level support for renewable energy technologies in Washington, DC. Sam has degrees in Environmental Policy and Environmental Science from Oxford University and the University of East Anglia, UK, respectively.
