Abstract

Custom 1

Carrie is pursuing her Master's in City Planning after several years working as a manager, teacher, and facilitator. From her experiences leading the large and dynamic Events Team for the energy efficiency and solar start-up Next Step Living, facilitating dialogue in the West Bank with Encounter, and teaching rock climbing to teenagers in the Rocky Mountains, Carrie developed a deep curiosity for how people interact and make decisions in social systems. Since arriving at MIT, Carrie has directed her focus towards consensus building - working to understand how participation in mediation processes fosters personal, organizational, communal, and social change. Carrie holds a BA in International Studies from Brandeis University.
