Audrey Schulman

Executive Director at Black Swan Lab

Audrey Schulman founded HEET in 2008. She helped lead the organization for 16 years, guiding its growth and impact in advancing climate and energy solutions. She created the first-in-the-nation statewide map of natural gas leaks and initiated groundbreaking research that identified a method for gas utilities to detect and repair super-emitting gas leaks. She also launched the study that brought national attention to the health impacts of gas stoves. In addition, she co-developed HEET’s innovative strategy to transition gas utilities from traditional gas systems to networked geothermal, an approach that is now gaining traction across the country. Beyond her work in climate and energy, she is also the author of six novels, translated into 12 languages and reviewed by The New Yorker, The Economist, and CNN.
